SAN RAFEAL and OAKLAND, California - Autodesk Inc. and Tech Soft America (TSA) today announced that TSA will resell and provide technical support for Autodesk RealDWG. The leading provider of graphics components to the CAD/CAM/CAE software industry, TSA will help third-party developers take advantage of the cost-effective platform Autodesk offers for enhancing existing products and developing new ones - to better serve customers and pursue new markets.
Autodesk RealDWG enables independent software vendors (ISVs) to develop products that read and write leading design data formats AutoCAD?DWG and DXF. As part of this agreement, TSA will integrate Autodesk RealDWG technology with its flagship HOOPS 3D Application Framework (HOOPS/3dAF) graphics component, and make the Autodesk RealDWG software developer's kit available to ISVs as a standalone product or bundled with HOOPS/3dAF.
"Demand is high among ISVs for accurate and complete access to DWG and DXF data," said Ron Fritz, managing partner for TSA. "These formats are de facto standards and the Autodesk RealDWG toolkit will make it easy and economical for ISV's to ensure their products support both types of files. We expect this to be a very popular offering within our suite of component technologies."
Autodesk RealDWG is fully compatible with Autodesk's best-in-class products, including AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor?Series, Autodesk Revit? Building, Autodesk Architectural Desktop, Autodesk Civil 3D? Autodesk Map? 3D and AutoCAD LT? The Autodesk RealDWG software library allows Visual C++ and .NET developers to read and write AutoCAD DWG and DXF files for AutoCAD 2006 as well as the 2000, 2000i, 2002, 2004 and 2005 versions of the design software.
"There's tremendous value in third-party developers creating software that lets customers take advantage of their design data - with total confidence in its integrity and accuracy," said John Sanders, vice president, Autodesk Platform Technology Division. "TSA's tools and support help ISVs use Autodesk RealDWG to boost their business and offer products that are fully compatibility with Autodesk's portfolio of solutions."
